EPA shares compliance advisory on pesticide devices
EPA shared a compliance advisory with the regulated community regarding the production, distribution, and sale of pesticide devices in the US.
Per FIFRA section 2(h), ‘a device is an instrument or contrivance that is intended to destroy, repel, trap, or mitigate any pest, including but not limited to rodents, molds, viruses, and bacteria.’
Regarding regulations, the advisory provided no new information or changes to the legislation. That said, the Agency felt it was necessary to reinforce such regulations as they’ve seen an increase in non-compliant devices on the market. The advisory also served as a reminder that regulatory requirements for pesticide devices differ from other pesticide products.
