Monkeypox virus triggers EPA Emerging Viral Pathogens (EVP) Policy
May 27, 2022
The EPA triggered it’s EVP Policy after the CDC announced a positive case of Monkeypox in the United States on May 18, 2022. More information on the virus can be found on CDC’s website.
The EVP for Monkeypox was activated in May 2022 and is currently set to expire in May 2023. This is the first pathogen to trigger the EVP Policy since the onset of SARS-CoV-2 and its variants.
