Active July 15, 2022, Maine updates CSF & Affidavit requirements
On July 15, 2022, Maine released a revised online pesticide application form that will impact EPA registered and FIFRA 25(b) minimum risk pesticides. The changes to the online application form are a product of Maine’s new regulations on PFAS in pesticides.
Requirements
A Confidential Statement of Formula (CSF) is required for all pesticide products. Maine will no longer accept CSF documents, instead CSF information will be included in the new online form.
Registrants will also be required to complete three affidavits (yes/no responses only) in response to Maine’s new laws surrounding PFAS. These include PFAS as part of the product formulation or products stored in fluorinated containers.
Lastly, as part of the 2023 pesticide renewal process, registrants will be required to provide a CSF for every product. To prevent renewal delays, beginning July 15th, registrants will be able to access their current product profiles and be able to include the appropriate CSF information.
