Pesticide regulation
Pesticides are heavily regulated at both the state and federal level to ensure that they meet both public health and environmental health safety and efficacy requirements before they are offered for sale. Pesticide product labels must also meet strict criteria to ensure that they inform consumer and handlers of potential risks.
Funding
EPA plans to spend $500,000 per year over the course of five years on this new program. The Agency will award one applicant a cooperative agreement, which will allow for the development of activities and materials including training, creation of relevant tools and resources, technical assistance, and development of a marketing plan to raise awareness and grow support for the program.
Applications must be submitted electronically through Grants.gov by July 20, 2017. If applicants do not have the technical capability to apply electronically, the applicant must request to submit their application materials by contacting [email protected] or mailing the submission to a specified address. This must be done at least 15 calendar days prior to the submission deadline.
