EPA Maintenance Fees & Establishment Reports for 2020

As we’ve entered the new year, please take note of the following reminders from the EPA about the new 2020 Maintenance fees as well as information on the submission of production reports to maintain an active status with the Agency. 

Maintenance fees

To stay up-to-date, maintenance fees for all pesticide registrations must be paid on or before Wednesday, January 15th, 2020. It is imperative that the fees are paid before then, or The Agency will cancel your pesticide product registration. The fees vary from year to year and depend on the number of products, but for 2020 the fee is $4,000. Mailers have already been sent from the EPA to affected applicants with an announcement of the 2020 fees. For more information please use this link here.

Production reports

Even if your company did not produce any pesticides in the 2019 calendar year, if you wish to maintain your active registration status with the EPA an establishment report must be submitted by Sunday, March 1, 2020. Failure to report results in enforcement action from the EPA (i.e. termination of establishment registration). For any questions regarding your establishment, the EPA asks you to contact your Regional Pesticide Establishment Coordinator as a resource. If you have a pesticide product registered by the EPA and you want to continue to support that registration you must pay the annual maintenance fee, even if you do not intend to sell any product in the U.S. in 2020. If your company owns and operates a foreign or domestic pesticide or a device producing establishment then you must submit a production report for 2019, even if no production took place during that calendar year.
