Health Canada: NNHPD expedites registration of hand sanitizers
The Natural and Non-Prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) at Health Canada has issued a guide on the interim expedited licensing approach for the production and distribution of alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
The guide lays out the regulations for those companies intending to switch production to manufacture, package and/or label alcohol-based hand sanitizers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The guidance document includes:
- Step-by-step application processes for:
- A site licence
- A product licence
- Both a product and a site license
- Labeling requirements
- Contact information in case you have questions
- A cover letter template to accompany your application (the cover letter alone is not sufficient)
