USA: EPA announces guidance for active ingredients in disinfectants during COVID-19 outbreak
The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced new guidance for certain active ingredients sourced by manufacturers of disinfectant products.
For disinfectant products already registered with the EPA, the Agency will temporarily allow manufacturers to obtain certain already-registered active ingredients from any source of supplier without checking with the agency first. This temporary guidance is only applicable to products on EPA’s List N: Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2.
Some active ingredients in this guidance include:
- Citric acid
- Ethanol
- Glycolic acid
- Hydrochloric acid
- Hypochlorous acid
