TSG Consulting to provide overview of California state regulation at HCPA’s annual pesticide management workshop
TSG Consulting will provide an overview of California state regulation at the HCPA (Household & Commercial Products Association) Pesticide Management Workshop 2019, running from October 8th-10th in Washington DC. This is the first time California state regulation has been covered in the event’s thirty-plus year history.
HCPA’s Pesticide Management Workshop is an annual event providing manufacturers of household commercial products with an overview of pesticide regulation in the USA. Delivered by scientific and regulatory experts from TSG Consulting and Crowell & Moring LLP, the course focuses on practical aspects of pesticide regulation.
Days 1 and 2 of the workshop focus on FIFRA (Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act) – the federal statute governing US pesticide regulation. TSG Consulting’s Lisa Amadio, Micah Reynolds, Leslie Patton and Abigail Wacek will provide an overview of pesticide regulation, the types of registrations and key considerations for pesticide product development. They will also cover application packages, PRIA 4, reporting and recordkeeping, the import and export of pesticides, ingredient disclosure and retailer initiatives, biopesticides and biostimulants, and inert ingredient petitions.
Day 3 will center on state regulations, with California as a focus. TSG Consulting’s Kelly Rahn, Vice President, State Affairs & Head of TSG California, will provide an overview of the state regulation of pesticides as well as California’s registration process and post-registration requirements.
“We’re delighted to be offering a third day specifically focusing on California State Regulation” says Rahn. “California has some unique state registration requirements and the quickest path to market is to account for these early in the lifecycle of the pesticide. Attendees will leave this workshop with practical tools for accomplishing this.”
